Getting to Picton & the Marlborough Sounds

Getting to Picton is easy 

The closest cities to Picton are:

Wellington – you can either catch the inter-islander ferry across Cook Strait (3 hour journey) to Picton or fly to Picton or Blenheim with either Soundsair (flies to both towns) or Air New Zealand (Blenheim only).  Blenheim is a 25 minute drive from Picton and we can organise a shuttle to collect you (at your cost) to Picton if required.

Christchurch – you can either hire a car and drive the coastal road to Picton (about 4.5 hours) or take the coastal train (about a 5.5 hour ride) to Picton or you can fly with Soundsair Christchurch to Blenheim.
